NEWKIRK TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
September 21, 2021
The regular meeting of Newkirk Township was held Tuesday September 21, 2021, at the Newkirk Township Hall. Supervisor Allan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and began with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: Supervisor Gretchen Allan, Clerk Cheryl Fullerton, Deputy Clerk Deb Abplanalp, Treasurer Sharon Gray and Trustees Marilyn Gray and Rick Hall.
Visitors:Norman Zelony, Ron DenBraber, Lynn Wert, Linda Hoover, Karen Neiger
Visitor Comments: Norman Zelony, Veteran Service Officer for Lake County left business cards and pamphlets spoke briefly on support for Veterans, contact him for questions or information @231.745.6003.
Lynn Wert and Linda Hoover asked questions regarding our Medical/Recreational Operation. We directed them to call MML to further clarity and answers.
Karen Neiger, representing Newkirk Township as Fireboard. She thanked the Township for support and will be retiring at next Fireboard meeting on October 7, 2021
Agenda approval and August 16, 2021, draft minutes, and financial report: M. Gray moved to approve the agenda with addition (I) under expenses, in which will be reimbursed. R. Hallsupported; motion carried 5-0

R. Hall moved to pay the expenses; S. Graysupported; roll call motion carried 5-0
a. Blite: Progress is being made on May Rd
b. Scoring for Marihuana Ordinance was reviewed and will be sent to Attorney for approval.
Application was presented for both Medical and Recreational Marihuana, Attestations signed and forwarded to Green Peaks.
Amendments for both Medical and Recreational Marihuana were approved and set at a Cap of 50 licenses each. R. Hall made the motion and M. Gray supported; motion carried 5-0
Signature cards for signing are being prepared at LOSB, adding Deputy Clerk, Debra Abplanalp along with Sharon Gray, Marilyn Gray and Cheryl Fullerton to accounts. Debra Abplanalp was sworn in on December 20, 2020, and welcomed by the Board.
Loan transfer suggested by Auditors: from MRM Fund to General Fund for $11,404.50 for Legal land $526.10 for printing and publishing were approved.
