NEWKIRK TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
March 30, 2021
The regular meeting of Newkirk Township was held Tuesday March 30, 2021 at the Newkirk Township Hall. Supervisor Allan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and began with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: Supervisor Gretchen Allan, Clerk Cheryl Fullerton, Treasurer Sharon Gray and Trustees Marilyn Gray and Rick Hall.
Visitors: Commissioner Martin
Commissioner Martin gave a Covid update stating that 68.7 percent of Lake County has it’s first shot, and that we are up and above other counties. Federal Covid Relief to the County is 2.3 Million with ½ paid in 30 days to use for Covid related expenses.
A resolution was passed then sent to the Governor asking to work more closely with legislation.
The County budget for training with Equalization this year is 27 thousand plus.

Storage Ordinance tabled for April Meeting.
a. Gretchen Allan will try to take care of the closing of the Bank of America Credit Card
b. C. Fullerton made motion to pay the Osceola-Lake Conservation District $600 for Hazard Waste Collection, S. Gray second, roll call motion carried 5-0
c. Designated Assessor in review until further information from County
d. Carrieville Road sign is not a concern currently.
e. S. Gray motioned to make the following Budget Amendments:
$300 from Miscellaneous to Building and Grounds
$7100 from Contract Services to Transfers Out Other
R. Hall supported; motion carried 5-0
f. C. Fullerton moved to adopt the Amended Ordinance 1-2020 to increase the number of licenses for Class C processor Green Peaks, R. Hall supported roll call vote motion carried 4-0
g. Public Accuracy Test is scheduled for Friday April 4, 2021 at 9:30 am
h. We have decided to stay with our Verizon Internet and phone, costing less than joining in with the Village.
Meeting suspended at 8:37 pm for Budget Hearing.
R. Hall made motion to accept the 2021/2022 Budget with changes discussed, C. Fullerton supported; motion carried 5-0
